Tuft

Sport a kudumi (tuft) and I will get you a job in a local post office

In those days only persons with a tuft were preferred for government service. I put my foot down and said `No.'

Interview with the creator of some of the evergreen comedy segments of tamil cinema.

Also a nice and sensible
article
strange it does not link to the article directly. The article
in Openpage that i intent to link is In defence of good doctors.

Dear Magesh,

Chitralaya gopu used to stay in the apartment where Sowmya used to stay earlier (in Beasant Nagar). Once Prasad asked him "Gopu mama, eppadithan Kadhakalika Neramillai padam thonithu". He simply replied " Just happened pa".

Sridhar-Gopu combination gave some of the amazing cinemas ever. Actually they were the only one who brought out the nagaichuvai rasam from Nadigar Thilagam in his movies, except may be Bale Pandiya.

Dear Narasimhan,

During the phase Balaji was working with Nagesh and during the personal chat sessions at Nagesh's house Gopu used to be a constant company.

Balepandiya is more about this amazing actor M.R. Radha than about Sivaji(not the Boss). He is one of the unique talents in tamil cinema and is one whose influence can be felt even till date with many actor(notably Vivek amongst the current actors).

Best regards,
Magesh

In Baale Pandiya - it was so starange to see some straight lifts from Oscar Wilde. You would think it wouldn't work in Tamil but seriously one sequence did!

Dear All,

Happy to see some posts on the great Comedy Writer Chitralaya Gopu. His 3rd son Sriram was my class mate in The Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane and we used to play Cricket together in Triplicane beach and in the school.

Sriram has now taken to comedy writing and is excelling in the same.

He has so far written two stage dramas both of which have been dramatised by UAA led by Y.Gee. Mahendra.

I have brought Sriram to the blogs and you can read his recently started blog at Yours Dramatically

Regards
R Sathyamurthy
I blog too
