just discovered your blog..the article you link approaches the nrega in a roundabout way..while professing objectivity the author does a lot of reform-bashing..shouldn't he understand first that the reforms are about people too ? about corrupt people who would make a grand dinner of whatever nrega comes their way..reforms, in my view are about taking power away from the politicians, power brokers, babus, contactors and other kinds of fixers and giving it back to the people.

Firstly, the fact that i had linked that article in my blog doesnt mean that i totally endorse his views..

The thing i liked about that article was this notion of inclusion that he talks about..while we are talking of development we should really keep in mind the population that it benefits very conciously which definitely is lost many a times..

As regards ur comment..am not a reform basher..but one has to be very careful while undermining the roles of democratic institutions in the process of reform unless a viable working alternative is eveolved..
